YouTube Channels

  • Veritasium = This is a channel of science and engineering videos featureing experiments, interviews, demos
  • MinutePhysics = As the name suggests, physics concepts explained in a minute! Good way to start thinking broadly about physics
  • NASA channel - keep up to date with NASA
  • VSauce = something to think about.....
  • Smarter Every Day = nice collection of videos on interesting topics

Look out for on Twitter...

  • Brian Greene = American theoretical physicist
  • Brian Cox = Pop star turned physicist turned educator... the guy who you see on those programs on TV who can get quite annoying
  • Neil deGrasse Tyson = the American Brian Cox, although older but also talks in 'wonder-speak'
  • Michio Kaku = theoretical physicist, populariser of science
  • Phil Plait = aka 'the bad astronomer'
  • Chris Hadfield = Mission commander for the ISS. Profound thinker... made a music video in space... madness
  • International Space Station (ISS) = Human space station housing (max.) 6 people at a time
  • Sean Carroll = theoretical cosmologist, popular science writer
  • Elon Musk = Engineer and entrepreneur with some amazing ideas! See SpaceX (private space delivery/ travel/ exploration), Tesla (most successful electric car company), SolarCity (major solar initiative), artificial intelligence company OpenAI, and more!
  • Ben Goldacre = Doctor and skeptic, fighting a hugely successful battle in getting medical data from Pharmaceutical companies. A bona fide quack-buster
  • Bruce Betts = Planetary scientist. FUN!
